Weekend Reflections: Setting Boundaries

So, as we ease into the weekend, let's think about a topic that is often overlooked but is incredibly vital to our success as a person: Setting Boundaries.


Now I know most of us would like to talk about it, but we struggle with it more often than not. It can be challenging, frankly. The challenge though, often comes from a place of fear with us- fear of missing out, fear of hurting someone, or even the fear of acknowledging our own needs. But here is the thing: Boundaries aren't about saying 'no' to others; they're about saying 'yes' to yourself.


You see, boundaries are like the fences we put around our gardens. They protect the precious things inside—our time, our energy, our emotional well-being—while letting in the sunshine and rain that help us grow. Without these fences, our time gets hijacked, our energy drained, and our emotional well-being compromised. It's like leaving the doors of your home wide open; sure, you'll let in some fresh air, but you're also inviting in anything- or anyone- that passes by.


So, as we transition to the weekend, let's take some time to think about our own boundaries. Are they strong enough to protect us but flexible enough to allow growth? And if you find they're lacking, remember, it's never too late to start building.
